RRB NTPC UG (CEN 07/2025) recruits for four posts: Commercial cum Ticket Clerk (Pay Level 3), Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Clerk cum Typist and Trains Clerk (all Pay Level 2). The two Typist posts also require a Computer Based Typing Skill Test.

Commercial cum Ticket Clerk is Pay Level 3 with initial pay ₹21,700, while Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Clerk cum Typist and Trains Clerk are Pay Level 2 with initial pay ₹19,900, plus DA, HRA, TA and other railway allowances.

The minimum qualifying percentage in CBT-1 is 40% for UR and EWS, 30% for OBC-NCL, 30% for SC and 25% for ST (with relaxation for PwBD where applicable). Qualifying is necessary to be considered for the merit-based shortlisting.

The official RRB NTPC UG CBT-1 cut-off (normalized, out of 100) is released RRB-wise and category-wise with the result. As an indicative guide, normalized cut-offs trend highest for UR/EWS, slightly lower for OBC and in lower bands for SC/ST, and vary by RRB zone. Because CBT-1 is held in multiple shifts over several days, the RRBs apply a normalization formula so candidates are not advantaged or disadvantaged by an easier or harder shift. Your normalized score (not the raw score) is used for shortlisting and merit, so your final standing can differ slightly from your raw marks.

After the objection window closes on 5 July 2026, the RRBs finalize the answer key, apply normalization and publish the CBT-1 result, expected around July-August 2026 (tentative). Candidates equal to about 15 times the vacancies are shortlisted for CBT-2.

CBT-2 has 120 questions for 120 marks in 90 minutes: General Awareness 50, Mathematics 35 and General Intelligence & Reasoning 35, with 1/3 negative marking. Only candidates shortlisted from CBT-1 appear for CBT-2.
