Quick answer: the RRB NTPC 2026 syllabus has three subjects for both CBT 1 and CBT 2: General Awareness, Mathematics and General Intelligence & Reasoning. There is no English language section. CBT 1 (100 questions) is a screening test; final merit is made on CBT 2 (120 questions). For the 2026 Graduate posts the typing test has been dispensed with.

The Graduate (CEN 06/2026) and Undergraduate (CEN 07/2025) notifications use the same CBT structure and the same three subjects. 15 times the community-wise vacancies are shortlisted from CBT 1 for CBT 2. 120 minutes for PwBD candidates eligible for a scribe.

The detailed CEN 07/2026 for undergraduate posts has not been published yet (the indicative notice is out, with 1,688 tentative vacancies). Until it is, the best guide is last year’s CEN 07/2025, which had:

The same three subjects and the same CBT 1 (100 questions, 90 minutes) and CBT 2 (120 questions, 90 minutes) pattern as the Graduate level.
The same Mathematics topics; Reasoning and General Awareness lists worded slightly more briefly (for example, General Science up to 10th CBSE, History and Freedom Struggle, Geography, Polity).

RRB NTPC Syllabus 2026 - Frequently Asked Questions

What is the RRB NTPC syllabus 2026?

Three subjects for both CBT 1 and CBT 2: General Awareness, Mathematics and General Intelligence & Reasoning. CBT 1 has 100 questions (40, 30, 30) and CBT 2 has 120 questions (50, 35, 35), each in 90 minutes.

Is the RRB NTPC syllabus the same for Graduate and Undergraduate posts?

Yes, the subjects and the CBT pattern are the same. The UG CEN 07/2025 topic lists were worded slightly more briefly. The UG 2026 syllabus will be confirmed in the detailed CEN 07/2026.

Is there English in the RRB NTPC exam?

No. The RRB NTPC CBTs have no English language section; the subjects are General Awareness, Mathematics and Reasoning. English is one of the languages in which the paper can be taken.

Is there negative marking in RRB NTPC?

Yes. One third of the marks for a question are deducted for each wrong answer in CBT 1 and CBT 2.
