Level-1 recruitment uses a single Computer Based Test, followed by Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification and Medical Examination.

Duration 90 minutes (120 minutes for eligible PwBD with scribe). Negative marking: 1/3 mark per wrong answer. Minimum qualifying: UR/EWS 40%, OBC-NCL/SC/ST 30%. Normalised marks are used when the CBT runs across multiple shifts. ✓ as per CEN 09/2025

PET is qualifying in nature. Selection stages: CBT → PET → Document Verification → Medical Examination. CCAA, Ex-Servicemen and PwBD candidates are exempted from PET.
As per the RRB notice dated 03.07.2026, the Computer Based Test (CBT) for Level-1 posts under CEN 09/2025 is tentatively scheduled from 3 August 2026 to 21 August 2026. The exact day & shift for each candidate will be in the Exam City & Date intimation.
The Exam City & Date link (and SC/ST Travel Authority) goes live around 10 days before the exam date on the official RRB websites.
e-Call letters (admit cards) can be downloaded around 4 days before your exam date, from the official RRB website using your Registration Number and Date of Birth.
Aadhaar-linked biometric authentication is done at the exam centre. Carry your original Aadhaar (or e-verified printout), authenticate via rrbapply.gov.in if not done, and keep your Aadhaar in unlocked condition in UIDAI before the exam.
A single-stage CBT of 100 questions / 100 marks in 90 minutes — General Science (25), Mathematics (25), General Intelligence & Reasoning (30), General Awareness & Current Affairs (20), with 1/3 negative marking — followed by PET, Document Verification and Medical.
